AMINO ACID PROFILING

Amino Acid, an organic compound was discovered in 1806. Amino Acid molecules combine to form Proteins and both are considered the building blocks of life. Amino Acids are classified into three groups i.e. Essential, Nonessential & Conditional.

The Human Body needs 20 different Amino Acids to function properly. 09 out of these 20 i.e. Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, and Valine are termed as “Essential” as the Body cannot synthesize these and so, must be obtained from Animal Proteins in diet like Meat, Eggs, and Poultry. Plant-originating Quinoa & Buckwheat, Edamame, and Tofu contain all 09 essential Amino Acids and so are termed “Complete Sources of Protein”.

The 2nd and “Nonessential” group of 05 Amino Acids i.e. Alanine, Asparagine, Aspartic Acid, Glutamic Acid, and Serine can be produced by the Human Body. The 3rd and “Conditional” group of 06 Amino Acids consisting of Arginine, Cysteine, Glutamine, Tyrosine, Glycine, and Proline are solely required during Illness or while under Stress.

EFRAC undertakes the Analysis of all 20 Amino acids under Amino acid Profiling Package, across various Food, Feed & Agri Commodities.
